Roll Bar

I installed a roll bar in the Elan to participate in Time Trials and local Autocrosses.  The bar bolts in to existing frame mounts except for 4 holes that must be drilled through the frame.  The frame is accessed by cutting a rectangular hole in the body under the plastic deck behind the seats.  The bar doesn't interfere with the the soft top and does stiffen the car a little.  The bar was purchased from

I had the bar painted a graphite gray very close to the interior color.  After installing the bar I got padding from a local speed shop.  Since I have a aftermarket seat installed the bar comes very close to my head and the padding is a must.  Below is a picture of the roll bar before it was painted.  I'll have some pictures of it installed soon.
